When we select our staff, quality is top priority. Our college-age
counselors come from all over the U.S. and around the world. International
staff members add extra zest to camp life with their customs and
traditions. Counselors are personally interviewed following a comprehensive
application process. They are selected for activity area skill levels
and character traits desirable in role models. Instructors in specialty
areas are required to have proper, current certification.
Mountain Meadow provides a trained counselor for each 5 campers,
insuring personal attention to each individual. Being a counselor
at Mountain Meadow is difficult and not for everyone. Beyond all
of the talents and skills we seek young people with a servants heart,
not seeking their own interests or needs first but who truly see
the summer as a time to put the campers first and serve and build
them up. Those with high moral character, maturity, experience working
with children, enthusiasm and genuine interest in young people characterize
Mountain Meadow's leaders.
For the camp family's safety and peace of mind, we have an MD or
RN in residence at all times, as well as a complete first-aid dispensary
and infirmary. A fully-staffed hospital is only 7 miles from the
Ranch. All counseling staff are required to be trained and certified
in basic First Aid and CPR. And all lifeguards and waterfront instructors
must be red cross lifeguard certified as well.
