Camper In Leadership Training Program (C.I.L.T.)
For campers age 14 and older, we offer a program that affords extra,
specialized training in leadership development. This program challenges,
instructs and encourages the development of leadership skills
in our older campers and in turn serves as a real asset and complement
to all of our traditional activities. The C.I.L.T. Program, or
Camper in Leadership Training, allows older campers the opportunity
to participate in unique experiences relating to responsibility
and helping others meet the same challenges that they must meet
themselves. Our CILTs gather daily to discuss the details of effective
and ineffective methods of leadership. Being a CILT involves:
- Daily leadership workshops
- Involvement in various camp projects
- Opportunities to lead, including campfires and organized activities
- Group discussion, instruction & evaluation
Through these activities, campers learn the skills necessary to become
effective leaders, and serve as role models to their peers and
younger campers. Offered every session, this program is optional,
though highly recommended.
