Arts & Crafts/Ceramics

Our ceramics center has also become a very popular part of our creative arts program, where campers create a variety of ceramic products. We offer instruction in all methods of hand building, pouring slip filled molds and of course throwing pottery on the wheels. Campers learn all stages of ceramic creation from preparing and building with clay, through bisc firing, painting and glazing to the finish firing and completed art piece.

While Arts & Crafts is always a popular place for making the traditional camp projects such as friendship bracelets or tie-dye shirts, we take great pride in also offering a wide variety of art and craft projects. We utilize many of the unique natural resources available to us in Northeastern California. Our area is home to a variety of native plants, roots, rocks, feathers and other resources which, when combined with the skills of our instructors and campers, can become long-lasting finished projects and valuable learning experiences.
